Winners of Annecy Film Festival Announced

The animation world descended on France this past week for one of the worlds biggest animation festival in the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.


Annecy Festival qualified two shorts to the animation shorts category at the Oscars.


The first, fresh off an exciting win at Cannes, 27 (Flóra Anna Buda) won big again taking home the Cristal for best short film. It also took the honours for a second award for best original music award for a short film.


The second qualifier, winner of the Jury Award, was Drijf (Levi Stoops). The Belgian short is being hailed as a terrific comedy that had the whole crowd at Annecy laughing.

Best Original Music Award for a Short Film

27 – Committee, Mári Mákó & Rozi Mákó (Boddah, Miyu Productions/France, Hungary)


André Martin Award for a French Short Film

The Purple Season – Clémence Bouchereau (Bandini Films/France)
